The namesake for this track comes from the option to take the simpler route with a longer track sequence & less obstacles, or go for the more dangerous jump route back through the previous section with several pillars and holes in the racing line to weave through. (Picture 1 bottom right).
A reasonably simple track that keeps the player at full speed through most of the corners for the beginning of the race. The loop sequence that winds through the centre of level who’s exit back onto the main track provides the key scary moment.
Its the double loop that achieves this. An implementation of a single loop would be easier to process as the driver, but the double loop throws the player off due to a focused tunnel vision effect and an exit that comes as a surprise and quickly morphs into a right turn.
The end involves a cheeky false flag moment, where you go from a jump and are provided a boost section as you land, straight into a wall climb with “big air”. The key here to the best lap times, is to slam on the breaks through the boost zone to not shoot up right the wall and take a more calmer, controlled approach using as little of the wall as possible.
